Areena Headquarters – a typical day if we were the military, run by Major Ed Rathbone and his wife Colonel Karen.
For instance, there are 3 soldiers; Private’s Charne’, Peta and Marien, Captain Carolyn, Colonel and Major Karen and Ed Rathbone and of course our Veteran Meryl.
08h00 the doors open. Before this happens though, the army of ladies have a few things to do upon arriving for duty, in other words we go through a checklist from the previous day. Daily Roll call done on all soldiers on duty in addition preparations for the day begin.
Then it starts …. Communication devices ring. The inboxes are full. SOS messages from civilians, with requests for a place to bunk for weekends and holidays arrive continuously.
We have a lot of foot traffic with local and foreign civilians booking activities at our Adventure Village. We keep the resident civilians happy by reporting maintenance issues to our corporals who works tirelessly at ensuring that the barracks are safe and comfortable. “Come in Office, Come in, Over!” resonates from the Walkie – Talkie throughout the day. Soldiers de- activate Bombs similarly grenades de-activated and fires extinguished.
Areena Headquarters is busy every day from 08h00 -17h00, 7 days a week.
Colonel Rathbone ensures that all her regiment is provided with the relevant Areena uniforms. Looking professional and smart. The uniforms take on a civilian type style as to ensure that there is a welcoming feeling for guests and residents

At 17h00 the Corporals and Soldiers hand in all their artillery and walkie – talkies to the soldiers and captain at Headquarters.
The small convenience shop sales are calculated and above all entered into our top secret computer system. SOS communications completed. Storing equipment and top secret documentation signals the end of the day.
At approximately 17h10 the Areena headquarters staff get dismissed for the evening. Private’s Charne’, Peta and Marien, Captain Carolyn, Colonel and Major Karen and Ed Rathbone however will report for duty tomorrow.
