MILD TO WILD
Where good friends meet and adventure begins, the Areena Adventure Village is the place to be. From mild to wild activities there is something for everyone. Activities suited to young teens and adults, with a desire for adventure. Game viewing with a difference, safaris on quad bikes, have a once in a lifetime experience meeting Abby, our semi tame giraffe who loves to be in selfies and give you kisses.
ABSEILING
One of the eco-friendly activities offered by our Adventure Village is the exciting and thrilling abseiling. Our abseiling site at the Krantz of the Kwelera River offers stunning views and scenery. Descending down the sheer cliff towards a ledge above the river bed is a thrilling experience. A hike back up to the starting point takes you through indigenous shrubs. Look out for the Fish Eagles circling over the Kwelera River.
PAINTBALL
Paintball at Areena Riverside Resort takes place in the outdoor environment where “combatants” use mainly the natural terrain scattered with a few artificial pieces for tactical cover. Whether it’s moms, dads or a family, a kiddies party or corporate group… everyone has fun playing paintball at Areena Riverside Resort.
SEGWAY TOURS
Have a Segway Safari, glider experience with us, tours of 20 minutes or 60 minutes are available. A Segway is described as a two wheeled, self-balancing personal transporter. Leaning slightly forward propels your Segway on a forward motion and then leaning slightly backwards, will move your Segway in a backward direction. You are going at a steady pace, set by yourself and your confidence while riding your Segway.
QUAD BIKE SAFARI
Our safaris on quad bikes are very popular, with three tour options to choose from. Taking place in our private game reserve, they offer fun and adventure for the whole family, group of friends or corporate teams. Our guides will teach you how to drive one of our semi-automatic quads and take you on a guided game drive through our private game reserve.

OBSTACLE COURSE
Our obstacle course is a great adventure activity from our Adventure village, set up in the Private Game Reserve. You will be putting your balance to the test, as you cross over the dam on balancing beams, X-cross ropes, cargo nets and more. If you lose your balance or footing on any of the crossing points you will fall into the dam water below you, and have a short swim to the bank of the dam, and try crossing again.
PELLET GUN TARGET SHOOTING
An activity for all ages, an interactive activity for the whole family that does not break the bank. Try your hand at your hand eye co-ordination and see if you can hit the target. Have a family shoot out or bring the friends and see who can hit the bull’s eye first. Set out in our Private Game Reserve, a nature lover’s paradise, this outdoor activity is great fun.

All work and no play! The team that makes up your business is the key to your success. Show them how special they are and build greater team relations while having some fun with us. GIRAFFE INTERACTION
You can book an interaction with Abby, our hand reared 16 year old friendly giraffe. Here you will find an adventure activity in the Eastern Cape that will get you up close and very personal to a giraffe, who may decide to reward you with a very wet lick or what we like to call a kiss.
